Westchester Glens, Indiana, USA

  Westchester Glens is a residential community in northeast Indiana, located southwest of downtown Fort Wayne. It is a part of
Aboite Township which was partially annexed in 2006 by the city of Fort Wayne.

Roughly 130 families live in Westchester Glens which is rated as the number nine most livable neighborhood in the state of Indiana. Its "livability" score is 79 (national average is 66) due to low crime rate, excellent amenities, and good schools. However, the cost of living in this subdivision is 42% higher than in Fort Wayne, and a median house price is 260 thousand dollars.

Nearly 92% of the residents are people born in the USA while 6% are naturalized citizens. Of the latter, the largest ethnic groups are people born in India, China, Pakistan, and Poland.  As for the racial composition, whites constitute 83% of the population, Hispanics - 7.5%, Asians - 7.8%, and African-Americans - 1.2%.

Westchester Glens is a subdivision (or "addition" in local parlance) which was constructed in the 80's. It sits on a site with an underground waterway and it borders to the west an area which is prone to flooding. It also has portions of its territory designated as "wetlands". 

Westchester Glens subdivision is roughly delineated by four streets: Illinois Road to the north, Scott Rd. to the east, Glen Arbor Pass to the south, and Grey Birch Rd. to the west. It consists of nine streets: Copper Beech Run, Shingle Oak Pointe, Meadowridge Rd., Foxtrot Ct., Spring Cress Rd., White Cedar Rd., Thicket Ct., Hollow Creek Ct., Grey Birch Rd.
